01. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the Cash Counter: Cash Tally mobile and desktop applications (collectively referred to as "the Application", "we", "us", or "our"), authored and published by Deepak Kumar Sah.

The Application is built as an offline-first cash counter, currency denomination calculator, float planner, and pay-in tally slip generator for shopkeepers, retail cashiers, accountants, and individuals. Your privacy is paramount: we do not mandate any account creation, login, or phone number authentication to use the app.

02. Information We Do Not Collect

Key Privacy Guarantee: We do NOT transmit your financial numbers, tally entries, or cash drawer balances to any external servers.

Unlike cloud-hosted accounting apps, Cash Counter operates locally. Specifically:

  • No Financial Ledger Tracking: Your cash counts, coin breakdowns, float targets, shortages, and surpluses remain exclusively on your device.
  • No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for or collect your real name, physical address, email address, credit card numbers, or bank account credentials.
  • No Contact List or Photo Library Access: We do not scan or upload your contacts, personal photos, or camera feed.

03. Device Permissions & How They Are Used

To provide core features such as voice tallying, screen wakefulness during register closing, and PDF sharing, the Application may request the following permissions:

Microphone / Speech RECORD_AUDIO Used strictly when you tap the microphone button for hands-free denomination input (e.g., saying "five 500s, ten 100s"). Audio is parsed in real time via on-device speech APIs; audio recordings are never stored, uploaded, or transmitted.
Keep Screen Awake WAKE_LOCK Optional feature enabled in settings to prevent your phone screen from timing out and locking while you are physically counting currency notes at the cash till.
File Storage / Sharing Scoped Storage Used when you explicitly choose to export your denomination report as a printable PDF, CSV, or shareable text slip via WhatsApp, email, or system share sheet.
Internet Access INTERNET Used for checking app updates, loading Google Fonts during initialization, and loading third-party advertising or analytics SDKs if configured.

04. Local Data Storage, Backups & Deletion

All count history, custom currency settings, remarks, and preferences are stored locally in sandbox-isolated storage (via Flutter SharedPreferences and local device storage).

  • User-Controlled Backups: If you use the JSON backup/restore feature, the exported backup file is saved directly into the folder of your choice on your device or personal cloud drive. You retain 100% control over this file.
  • Immediate Data Deletion: You can wipe your history at any time through the in-app "Clear All History" feature. Uninstalling the application also completely removes all locally cached records.

05. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To keep the Application freely available, we may display banner or interstitial advertisements provided by reputable ad networks such as Google AdMob. These services may collect pseudonymous device identifiers:

  • Google Play Services / AdMob: May collect advertising ID (AAID/IDFA), coarse location, and app interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads according to Google's policies.
  • You can review Google's Privacy Policy at: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • You can opt out of personalized ads in your Android or iOS device system settings.

06. Security Practices

Because your financial records are maintained on your physical device, security relies on your operating system's sandbox protections. We strongly advise users to protect their mobile devices with a screen lock (PIN, biometric fingerprint, or password).

07. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Our Application is intended for general audiences, retail business operators, and cashiers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).

08. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

Under international data protection regulations (including EU GDPR and California CCPA/CPRA):

  • Right to Access & Export: You can export all saved transaction records into portable PDF or JSON formats at any time.
  • Right to Erasure: You can permanently delete all records within the app settings.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Tracking: You can disable advertising identifiers through your operating system settings.

09. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or platform requirements. Any updates will be posted directly to this web page with a revised "Effective Date". We encourage you to review this page periodically.
